The UAFX Flow offers three accurate, mood-enhancing emulations of tube-driven tremolo. The Dharma setting is reminiscent of the harmonic tremolo in a certain early ’60s California amp, 65 delivers that same company’s mid-1960s blackface-era tremolo (the smooth, sine-wave pulse many consider as the most celebrated example of this effect) and Square simulates the aggressive stutter of a square-wave. To provide even more classic trem traits, Flow includes a simulation of a 1960s tube preamp.

“My favorite mode is Dharma,” says seven-time Grammy-nominated guitarist/producer Justus West. “It gives you the tremolo effect, but also a bit of phasing that adds so much depth to chords. Dharma inspires me to play very soulful, and it reminds me of groups like the Isley Brothers getting crazy, vintage R&B tones. The capabilities of Flow are endless. As I switched between modes, they all grew on me, but in different ways—which is what makes Flow such a great grab for your pedalboard or your studio.”

The UAFX Flow also features tap tempo, which lets you click the footswitch in time to whatever track you’re working with to lock the tremolo effect to the groove. Like other pedals in the UAFX series, you can choose buffered or true bypass and load firmware updates through a USB-C jack.
