Watch Nick Hexum talk about his heavily customized Gibson ES-356.
In this excerpt from the Gibson TV Riff Lords episode with Nick Hexum, the 311 guitarist, singer, songwriter and Gibson guitar player shares how his latest favourite guitar is a heavily customized Gibson ES-356 with “fancy” inlays like a 355 but with a smaller body, which he says makes it a much more comfortable guitar for him to play.
Learn why he loves this guitar thanks to the center block so you can play distortion and see how in this particular guitar he added the sustainer pickup which is similar to an Ebow. For those who don’t know, an Ebow is a tool that guitarists use where you'd hold on the strings to make the strings resonate. But this Gibson ES-356 has reverse magnet pickup that makes the strings vibrate when he activates the switch!
