Attenuation is often overlooked and might seem like something that you don't necessarily need for your eurorack modular synthesizer system, especially when just starting out. However it can be insanely useful in any style of music.
Some modules are missing knobs but have CV input for certain parameters, others are missing attenuation on CV ins, and sometimes, you just cover a control with a cable and need a more convenient control placement. This is where the WMD 4TTEN comes in. It can attenuate audio, CV, and also has it's own 5V voltage source that can be used as a variable level offset. It can be used for any of the situations described above.
In this video, we go through a drone patch and using the 4tten to control parameters on the WMD Synchrodyne and Expand combo as well as to attenuate CV from an LFO and Sample and Hold going to different parameters in the patch.
