The Positive Grid Spark series of amps have been providing massive guitar sounds on the go for quite some time. But the debut of the Spark LIVE—a 4-channel smart amp and PA system was still a surprise. That’s a lot of power and versatility packed into a 26lb package that can fit into a carry-on bag.
And it’s LOUD.
Check out our video to hear how the Spark LIVE cuts through the ambient noise at the NAMM show during a vocal with guitar demo.
Spark LIVE can run a small combo. Channel 1 is dedicated for your guitar, and it includes all the amps and effects you’d need for any gig. Channel 2 can accept a vocal mic, a bass or an acoustic guitar—also with onboard preamps and effects. Channels 3 and 4 are stereo direct inputs for keyboards, pedalboards or computer backing tracks. Set up the band the way you want, and if you have a drummer, as long as he isn’t bashing like Bonzo, the 150-watt RMS power amp in Spark LIVE will get the music out to your fans.
Spark LIVE also includes Computational Audio (that adapts to sound applications and positioning/placement), Bluetooth connectivity, app control, horizontal or vertical orientation and optional battery power with Spark Battery (sold separately).
Spoiler Alert: Look close to a get preview of the soon-to-ship Spark LINK Wireless Guitar System. Setup is effortless, and you can use Spark LINK to go totally cable-less when putting on a show with Spark LIVE. Just use a separate Spark LINK for each of Spark LIVE’s four available channels.
