Gibson introduces its new Slash Core Collection at NAMM 2020 with a Slash Core Les Paul Standard '50s and a Slash Core J-45.
The Slash Les Paul Standard '50s combines inspiration from Slash's vintage and Custom Shop LPs, featuring gloss-finished mahogany body, C-shape Mahogany Neck with a rosewood fretboard, and dual SlashBucker pickups. Details include a “Skully” drawing on the back of the headstock, Slash’s signature on the truss rod cover, and four burst finishes to choose from—Vermillion, Anaconda, Appetite, and November.
The Slash J-45 Acoustic/Electric has a sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and bridge in a Slash rounded C profile. The LR Baggs VTC pickup gives this J-45 a big, natural acoustic sound. Slash Core appointments include a "Scully" drawing on the back of the headstock, Slash's signature on the truss rod cover, and the same November or Vermillion burst finishes as the Slash Core LPs.
Live from the NAMM 2020 floor, Jim DeCola (Master Luthier, Gibson USA) gives us an overview of the new collection while Jared James Nichols shows off their sound.
