Ben Bailey at JJ's Guitar Pickups loaded up a pickguard with his Purple Voodoo set and sent them down for me to try. If you're after that early-mid 60's mojo, these are the ones!
"We analyzed mid 60's examples that we repaired or rewound and came up with this recipe. It does what it says on the tin.
Alnico 5, reverse stagger, Plain Enamel coil wire, Gavitt cloth pushback wire. Bobbins made in-house to our custom specs."
