Margo Price's music is a Nashville-steeped blend of classic rock and outlaw country. Her work as a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer continues to evolve — and her new record, That's How Rumors Get Started, is an adventurous step forward into the aesthetic worlds of Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, and Linda Ronstadt.

We spoke with Price about how different instruments spark musical ideas, her exploration of her influences on the new album (and the story behind its title track), and what inspires her to keep making music.
