In this part two I show you how I easily use Crimson dye to color a Warmoth neck for electric guitar purchased from http://www.warmoth.com In this case I bought an unfinished neck so that I could ensure my guitar really is custom made.
I take this custom Warmoth Strat neck and simply apply the dye. I think the results are exactly what many guys might be wanting when using dye in this way. So how hard is this dye to use? and how long does it take to complete?
I bought my dye from http://www.crimsonguitars.com as a set for using over time, and while its not cheap, these dye's should last a long time. Note the dye is water based. I show how to mix the dye to any color, and while my dye finish may not be yours, the overall instructions are clearly and concisely shown in this video.
This whole series of videos will show you EXACTLY how to create a Fender Stratocaster (with licensed parts) right through to the final guitar over a whole series of videos. I have a very specific design of this guitar and it includes many spectacular guitar parts that probably never created in this exact way and included as I have.
Part three shows the way I route the body out to accommodate a genuine Fender Clapton boost board.
Other components used in the series include: Fender Locking Machine Heads, an ABM tremolo unit (separate review), a Fender Clapton boost circuit and its installation, Fender 69 custom shop pickups and one or two other surprises along the way.
This video series is entirely unsponsored and I purchased every single part just as you would have. I sincerely hope that this series of videos can inspire you too to have a go at creating a guitar what ever type it might be. I have spent considerable time creating these video series at my expense:
