In this Lesson we BreakDown the first two guthrie govan guitar solos and then later examine one of Christophe Godin's cool licks (and guthrie's response to that lick)

I'm really excited about this series of guitar lessons. When I first saw this youTube video of both Guthrie Govan and Christophe Godin I was blown away ... Primarily by the second little guitar solo that guthrie performed. But it wasn't until I dove into transcribing this that I realized there was so much more good stuff going on throughout.

Also ... I was introduced to another great guitar player ... Chris Godin ... In this video I call him Christopher ... Because I thought the "R" at the end of his name was cut off in the title of the video. That's just me being a silly naive american and not knowing names in other parts of the world. We always think the world revolves around us ... we couldn't be more wrong.

Anyway ... After watching several more videos of Chris Godin ... I realized how much this video jam with Guthrie Govan did not do him justice. He is an absolute smoking player. And a great teacher (from what I saw in some of the other videos). I'm actually looking forward to doing a lesson or two on some of his other videos in the future.

In this 4 part lesson we take a look at the amazing subtleties that guthrie govan masterfully weaves throughout this short but powerful jam sesson. Guthries soloing technique is just jaw dropping at times. He can make the most simple and common 5 notes take on a life of their own. It's amazing when you actually list all the great guitar players that have come before ... and then see a player like guthrie govan who encompasses bits and pieces of all of those players and does it so convincingly. I guess this is why so many of the current great guitar players tout Guthie as one of the best guitar players out there today.

Now that that rant is over. I hope you guys enjoy this lesson. Between the Four licks that I transcribed in this lesson there is a little of everything as far as technique is concerned. It's pretty impressive how much good stuff is crammed into about two minutes of playing ... without feeling like they're just cramming notes in ... and still being very musical.
