For this Free Lesson Tuesday video … we take a look at a pretty simple Walking Bass Line as well as a relatively simple Melody. The challenge is combining them and working them up to speed. When combined and played at a rather fast tempo … it sounds crazy impressive. But really it's just two simple melodic parts that are easy to learn.

In part 1 of this 2 part lesson we Breakdown the Walking Bass Line. Again, a really simple line … but understanding it's rhythmic structure is super important. Also understanding the Bass movement and how it relates to the chords that are being suggested is equally important.

In part 2 of this Lesson we'll Breakdown the Melody Line, combine it with the Walking Bass Line and also discuss some Techniques to help you work this up to tempo.
