I'm playing a Gibson Chet Atkins Acoustic/Eklictruc Guitar through a cranked 1971 Marshall Super Bass Full Stack. These guitars were built in the 1980s and 1990s and you may be surprised how good and natural they sound both clean and fully distorted!! Since the stings are non metal the pick ups are based on Piezo technology. Most natural sounding piezos I've ever heard!
