Vintage Greenbacks G12H-30 55Hz are compared to G12H-30 75Hz at bedroom volume level (obvious by the pick sound.) An ´82 Marshall JMP 2104 is used throughout the test (the settings are the same as in the previous clip: Marshall JMP 2104 with vintage Greenbacks - Demo. In combination these two clips demonstrates the huge influence mic placement and amp room positioning have on the sound. The camera mic is used at about 4 feet distance. The Guitar is a ´08 Gibson R9. All speakers have Pulsonic cones. The setup is as follows:
´74 G12H-30 75Hz 1x12
´73 G12H-30 55Hz 1x12
Both above speaker combined 2x12
´71 Pre Rola G12H-30 75Hz 4x12
´70 Pre Rola G12H-30 55Hz 4x12 (Cab itself is ´72)
Obviously to mic a 4x12 at four feet is quite bold (or stupid.) but I think that the phase issues were limited,
