For Punchy instruments like drums and electric guitar API Microphone Preamps has long been an industry standard. Today I compare the classic API 312 to the slightly more modern API 512 for Electric guitar. The 312 is part of the 3124+ rack and the 512C is part of the 500 lunch box series.
