There are some microphone brands that inspire something akin to reverence. Neumann is just such a brand. The TLM103 features a large diaphragm capsule with a cardioid pattern, the most commonly used pattern in recording. By focusing on this one polar pattern, the TLM 103 is available at a price far below that of most Neumann microphones.

It is excellent for lead and background vocal, reproducing detailed vocal nuance with astonishing accuracy and negligible coloration. Its maximum SPL of 138dB and low self-noise make it an ideal microphone for dynamic, expressive vocalists. The TLM 103 ships with a metal swivel mount and a wooden jeweler’s box.
