The Taylor Limited Edition 714ce-S LTD pairs a premium Sitka spruce top with rare, exotic Tasmanian blackheart sassafras back and sides. For some added sonic horsepower and projection, the top is supported by Adirondack spruce CV bracing that features Taylor's tone-enhancing relief rout. Sonically, blackheart sassafras is a best-of-all-worlds kind of tonewood, especially when paired with the versatile Grand Auditorium shape. Sassafras offers the warmth, woodiness and balance of mahogany, the articulation and focus of maple, and the top-end overtones of rosewood, making the 714ce-S LTD the perfect choice for any style or genre. Another attribute of this exquisite tonewood is that each and every set of blackheart sassafras offers a truly distinctive look, with remarkable variegations and luscious strips of brown and blonde hues that are as unique as a snowflake or fingerprint.
A dramatic, sharp Florentine cutaway adds even more elegance and playability to this already remarkable instrument. Typically reserved as a custom option on the 500 Series instruments and above, the hand-crafted Florentine cutaway is more a complex and labor-intensive cutaway in comparison to the Venetian cutaway. Functional and artistic all at the same time, the Florentine cutaway adds a gorgeous visual touch while providing even greater access to the highest frets on the fingerboard.
A luxurious set of natural-wood/pearl appointments come together for this striking 714ce-S LTD. Beautifully figured curly maple edging, rosewood binding, and a rosewood/mother-of-pearl rosette grace the top while the back showcases rosewood binding and a rosewood backstrip. Offering a stunning complement to the natural-wood adornments, especially the soundhole rosette, the ebony fingerboard boasts Capstone inlays in rosewood and mother-of-pearl. Taylor Expression System 2 electronics, a set of Gotoh gold tuners, a full-gloss body finish, a limited edition interior label and a deluxe hardshell case wrap up this premium package.
