In this video we check out the Nashville tuning which makes your 6 string guitar sound like a 12-string. This is one of the simplest and cheapest ways for a guitar player to add real tonal variation in the mixes. I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner. The Nashville tuning is actually standard tuning, but all string lower than D is elevated an octave.
