Great vintage sounding drum recordings are often done with a limited number of mics. Even though these recordings sound amazing they're often not intense enough to be put in a contemporary playlist. So in this video I investigate the difference between OH mics (positioned as close as possible) and a full setup that also includes close mics on all drums.
