In this video I compare really old strings to brand new strings for a 70s hard rock tone! It sure matters for intonation tuning, but how much does it matter for tone?. I'm playing a 1971 Marshall Super Lead Half Stack ('71 1982B) with a 2008 Gibson Les Paul R9. The Strings are D'Addario Nickel Coated 10-46.
