The McCarty 58 is an endangered species. If you're looking for one, New Old Stock or Private Stock are your only opportunities, aside from these MSL Limited Run Models.

This axe features a mahogany body with a flame maple 10-top. We ditched the mahogany neck and opted for a Pattern-carve East Indian Rosewood neck, which is very smooth and responsive. PRS won't be offering rosewood necks in 2014, so this might be one of the last new ones you'll see for a while. The fretboard is tonally coveted Brazilian Rosewood, and it features old school green ripple bird inlays. We outfitted this guitar with some of PRS's best pickups yet. There is a 57/08 humbucker in the bridge and a 59/09 in the neck. The rest of the layout is simple and efficient: a 3-way pickup selector with a volume knob, tone knob, and push/pull coil tap. There is zero volume loss between regular and single-coil mode. Yes, really. We topped everything off with hybrid hardware and the PRS wraparound stoptail bridge.
