This PRS Paul's Amp MDT Custom was wailed on by Paul Reed smith himself in our shop and on stage at the world famous Nectars during a local all star jam while he was in Burlington visiting Music Store Live.


This PRS CAD Paul's MDT Custom Amp immediately grabs your attention with its beautiful matching flame maple Autumn Sky face plates on both the head and cab. From there, it relies strictly on high class craftsmanship to get the job done. This single channel monster gives you 50 watts of some of the best tube tone you can find anywhere. Powered by two EL34s, this beast has a fixed bias (with rear mounted bias test jacks and controls) and a standard set of controls. The Clean / Dirty switch changes a series of parts in the amp that controls the gain structure in the first stage, second stage, and the power amplifier. It also adds a little bit of brightness to the clean channel. The cleans on this amp are almost 3 dimensional - they are some of the "least-subtractive" tones we have ever heard from a modern day amp maker. The dirty lead guitar settings... what can we say? They make you feel like you are tearing the 3rd dimension wide open and casting a divine white light of tone upon all the ears in the room. This is a revelatory amp that needs to be experienced to be believed.

The 2x12 Stealth cab features two Celestion Vintage 30 speakers, heavy duty tolex and solid pine, finger jointed construction for supreme strength and durability.

This amp, with its Cinemag transformer and unique voicings, provides a single channel amp with two distinct and highly useable settings for the stage and the studio. "Paul's Custom Amp takes Paul Reed Smith's favorite amplifier and adds several new features that expand the amp's tonal character and flexibility. The Cinemag transformer adds authentic vintage tone, while a sophisticated clean/dirty switch changes three circuit elements at once to achieve Paul's ideal clean and gain tones. Midrange and presence controls have also been added to further help with tone sculpting. Paul's Custom Amp is a single-channel amplifier with two distinct voicings that replicate the tones Paul uses in the studio and on the stage."
