Here’s the Polaris, from Spaceman Effects (Portland, Oregon). It’s a low to medium gain overdrive with a few extra features that set it apart from other drive pedals. Mainly, the filter sections and the ability to blend in the “normal” drive signal. The Depth switch selects 3 different filter types. A low pass filter, a deeper 2-pole filter and finally a 2-pole resonant filter (the most drastic and probably the coolest). The drive goes from a really nice boost that adds a little color to your tone and then all the way up to almost a distortion. I like the drive either as a boost or right around 9 o’clock for some low/medium gain. You can also use EXP to sweep the filter knob, which we'll see a lot of. The blend and filters really do give you a lot of options. Sounds good with guitar, bass, synth and plays well with other effects too! I don’t do a whole lot of overdrive videos, just the ones I really enjoy. As usual, the build quality is top notch. Plus, the Moonrock finish looks pretty sweet :) Let’s take a look!
