When it comes to guitar fretboards, there are some things you should be looking for to ensure that you get a good fretboard. Every piece of wood of a particular species does not mean it is a good piece of wood to use for a fretboard.
Most guitar fretboards ar made out of rosewood, ebony, or maple. These are not the only options, and if you are building the guitar yourself, or if you are having a custom guitar built for you, think outside the box.
