In this video we explore how to patch Labyrinth duophonically – creating two independent sequences for melodic counterpoint.
We begin by tuning both the VCO and MOD VCO to the same root (give or take an octave). By utilizing the U MIX utility mixer in the patch bay we can mix the MOD VCO and NOISE together and send that mix into the VCF while the main mix is sent to the VCW. We next decouple the two envelope generators so that they are separately triggered from the two sequencers and use those independent envelopes to control the independent VCAs in the VCF and VCW respectively. This results in two distinct voices driven independently by each sequencer and blended together via the BLEND control.
