I saw Gibson craftsmen really close up with one guy carving out a pattern on the Les Paul body. You can see how he had drawn the image first and how he carves the top around the design. Also there was another craftsman showing exactly how to fit the binding around the Les Paul body. I just thought that some guys might like to see exactly how good these employees are at their chosen application within Gibson.
Get answers to most questions like:
Is that employee really carving the top?
So it's not machined?
Is he really a Gibson employee?
Is that how they bind a Les Paul body?
Is binding a body hard to do?
Do Gibson bodies get bound that way?
There is no real talking in this short video, but it does show really close up footage of Gibson employees working on equipment. It's generally worth watching this video because I never really see that much coverage of artisans carving the top of a Les Paul in this way.
Visit http://www.tonymckenzie.com for other non YouTube reviews of a great deal of musical equipment, and of course my YouTube channel with at least 300+ reviews online. I buy most of if not all of the equipment myself and my reviews are not generally sponsored by third parties so you get a review that will always 'tell it the way it is' and my personal opinion as to whether the equipment lives up to the hype often thrown about in many other reviews. Even on the rare occasion of sponsorship my reviews always show things the way they really are.
Please don't forget to subscribe... these videos are hard to make. Thumbs up and ring the bell! Thanks and its appreciated.
