The history of rock guitar and some of the quirks that have shaped it with electric guitars that have been somehow modified is a long road. But those earlier players often made it to being one of the 'Gods' of rock guitar. Take Malmsteen that has dominated the 'Neo-Classical' style since his debut on the scene. But Malmsteen in some ways is a copyist!
It's well documented that Yngwie Malmsteen was influenced greatly by Ritchie Blackmore in a big way. So much so that Malmsteen took Ritchie's 'scalloped' guitar neck and made it extremely scalloped for the Malmsteen style of playing.
But often Malmsteen guitar necks simply are one step too far for most players; they try them and quickly never go back because it's so easy to play out of tune or there are other antagonizing features that stop ordinary worldly players ever using those necks.
But Ritchie Blackmore's Fender guitar neck is NOT a Malmsteen neck. Gone is the mind boggling scalloping (for the most part) that guitarists just dislike... and in it's place is a far more friendly solution that could honestly change your guitar playing forever. It's a less known secret that Ritchie's guitar neck is far less aggressive, and scarily this could be the answer that you have been waiting for to move your playing to the next level.
In this video I show the closeup of a genuine Fender Ritchie Blackmore neck with its specifications and dimensions, its features close up, the fitting of and the setup of the neck, and lastly I offer playing examples and any disadvantages of the Ritchie Blackmore neck. This is a very close up review of this neck and so is inherently a long video. But you should find it useful and hopefully entertaining.
This video has been completely funded by me, written and developed by me and is not sponsored in any way by ANY company. I purchased everything for the guitar. I trust that this video inspires you too to consider other things than just the every day often boring options out there when considering guitar necks!
