A custom strat I made (mid-priced) with incredible Tone Shaping abilities that ANY strat should have. It's a really great guitar using special switching products and you can watch the entire build. Also a comparison of Chinese and USA strat guitar parts - are those cheap Chinese parts really any good? A Video showing the completed guitar and Tone Shaping in action will follow later.
This custom strat started out as a very low cost guitar, but following many issues with cheap parts I upgraded this to a mid priced Strat guitar using Licensed Fender Parts and Genuine Fender Parts. There are also a few non Fender parts (some of which were fine while others were trouble). Please note that this will likely be my last guitar build.
I review a product called a Tone Shaper specifically designed for a Stratocaster to get those settings and tones that a regular Strat cannot get without substantial mods. This unit drops right in there and is completely solder free install, plus you get a MASSIVE choice of tone shaping options all configurable with the flick of a switch. Magic!
