The Rorschach Misophenia starts with a classic rodent foundation but takes a turn at every step of the way to provide a much more flexible distortion. The classic hard clipping is evident but there’s no shortage of tones here thanks to a 3-band Hifi-inspired EQ section that gives you surgical precision over the freq bands.
Classic tones are easily found with liberal use of the mids, but there are all kinds of unexplored and tasteful sounds just waiting to be explored at either end of the tonal spectrum.
Along with a healthy output level, the gain gets another level when the Chug switch is engaged, taking you into fuzzier textures without losing the core voice that this all analog pedal provides in lower gain settings. As with all Rorschach Devices, the Misophenia is handmade in St Louis and includes their signature glow ring indicator to bathe your pedalboard it light while you destroy your clean tone.
