Kathy: Berner Street Album by Tony Mckenzie and Alan Bruce - intense rock guitar. This is a released track I wrote (Alan Bruce did the lyrics/vocal) called Kathy from the Berner Street album I worked on in 2008. Basically the album was a conundrum - you had to solve the riddle of Jack the Ripper and win some lovely money... alas the US distributor didn't... that is, he didn't do his job - distribute!
While we did sell some albums, no one won the prize and that contest has now ended. But the music was written in its own right and there were many good songs on there - I might put some up later.
Kathy was written about Kathleen Eddows - one of the victims of the ripper in 1898 in London England - and if you listen to the few words there is, there are even clues in those... but all the guitar and basic track was written by me and I really liked the bluesy vibe that this one gives out - in fact its still one of my favorite tracks from the Berner Street Album.
This song is about 6 minutes long and mostly rock blues guitar related.
Rated by Francis Dunnery of IT BITES - 'Berner Street - Stunning, the most original album I heard in twenty years' - Rock based music that encompasses the spirit of one of the most elusive serial killers of all time. FEEL Jack the Ripper as you listen.
Berner Street is still available from iTunes, CD-baby, Bigdan Records, hundreds of other sites or even your local music store, so if you kike it then buy it. It cost two years of work to develop the whole album and I think we had 20 seconds to spare on an 80 minute audio CD!
The album has no completely instrumental music on there but there are some really heavy songs and some less heavy - the album was aimed at a wide cross section of the public.
This track was written and recorded once again with a Marshall TSL100 (JCM 2000) with Ibanez 7VWH Japanese model - an awesome combination strewn all over that album. A very underrated amp - oh and the cab was a Marshall 1960A 4x12 cab which I have had from new.
I hope you like this track I do.... its one of my favorites!
