After a debut splash with their Geckoplex EP-5, Gecko’s back with a second invention, the O-Face! On the surface is a 4-stage all analog overdrive offering a unique soft-clip diode arrangement and a powerful see-saw tone control. But dive deeper and you’ll notice controls generally seen on a modulation pedal.
In fact, the Gain, Tone and Volume have their own independent controls for Speed, Depth, and waveform accessed by holding the illuminated button and turning one of the 3 knobs to access the alt functions. The effect from each knob oscillating back and forth is very different from the next. There’s the syrupy harmonic-style tremolo with the Tone control, intense swells with the Gain or classic Tremolo by modulating the Volume. These 3 elements can be locked in sync, a multiple of the global rate or free form for unexpected waveform interactions.
The advanced digital control of the O-Face means this pedals is fully programmable with 3 onboard presets, MIDI in/out for parameter control and extra presets. Plus, Alt commands give access to tap subdivisions 1-4, neutral tone adjustments, phase of each wave, and finally Tap Hold ramps the Speed or Depth on the fly for a more dynamic O-Face experience.
