Over the years, I’ve had the honor of bringing you demos for both V1 and V2 Vibe Machines and with each new version came features and sounds to expand on this classic circuit from the 60s. For their 10th Anniversary, DryBell went back to the breadboard of this analog photocell-based Vibe and through experimenting, discovered a circuit change that created a whole new offering when it comes to its gooey tone. Not designed to overshadow previous versions, V3 offers slightly less midrange shift in the modulation sweep but it also provides a wider depth range to explore in Chorus and Vibrato modes.
Of course, the Vibe Machine V3 comes packed with all the advanced features of previous versions such as various impedances to set the tone and crucial set and forget adjustments to nail the perfect throb behavior via Symmetry, Range and Chorus trimpots. The output Volume can also boost above unity and the Grit is helpful for matching the presence of the effect with your amp or other pedals.
The speed can be controlled in multiple ways: manually, Exp with/without Leslie-style ramping, external footswitch toggling 2 speeds or tap tempo with subdivisions.
For such a compact pedal, there’s lots under the hood and after 10 years, DryBell has proven to be an authority in their field. For more info on these high quality analog pedals from Croatia, visit Drybell.com
