The Spidola is no ordinary Germanium Treble Booster, fuzz or overdrive for that matter. In true Demedash fashion, the Spidola forges a new path while not forgetting the beloved qualities of vintage designs. To allow this pedal to placed anywhere on your board and immunity from buffers, the signal starts with a pumped up 18V high headroom op-amp boost which is controlled by the Gain knob. This signal level is crucial for shaping the voice and gain structure of the Spidola since it pushes two circuits which run in parallel. One channel employs a fine-tuned treble booster, armed with a NOS Soviet-era Germanium transistor for that special fuzzy attack and sweet vocal midrange. The Treble control is a low pass filter to warm up the edges of any pickup or amplifier – whether clean or dirty. The other circuit in parallel is a bass overdrive with no high frequencies let through. This allows you to precisely fill in the low end with a much tighter bass tone while the independent treble booster handles the howling mids and treble. In the end, both circuits are recombined and given a master output Level to align with rest of your rig. The Demedash Spidola is hand-crafted in Canada using high quality parts and great attention to detail. Check it out along with other unique circuits at DemedashEffects.com.
