We stopped by the Supro booth at Winter NAMM 2019 to take a closer look at the Blues King 12 guitar amplifier and Analog Delay pedal. Guns 'N' Roses guitarist Richard Fortus was on hand to demo both!
The Blues King is a 15 watt 1x12" tube combo is steeped in Supro's American roots, tapping into the sound of amplifiers made in Chicago in the mid 20th century. These amps, strongly associated with the sound of '60s Blues and the British Invasion, take the classic Supro sound and add modern features like foot-switchable fat boost and a high-gain mode for extra aggression. The Blues King also features a 3-and EQ and real spring reverb.
The Supro Delay is a top shelf analog delay pedal, with up to 600ms of delay time. In addition to standard TIME, REPEATS and LEVEL knobs, the Supro Delay has a unique FILTER control, allowing you to control both low-pass and band-pass from one single knob. that provides both low-pass and band-pass functions on a single knob.
Designed by Howard Davis (original designer of the late 1970’s EHX Deluxe Memory Man), the Supro Delay uses a pair of new-production, MN3005 “bucket brigade” IC chips. As a result, the Supro Delay has the best signal-to-noise ratio and the most headroom available from any analog echo pedal (old or new).
