The Danelectro Back Talk is a faithful recreation of the reverse delay that surely blew a few minds back in the 1999, just as reverse tape echo did back in the ‘60s. During its short run, the Dano Back Talk offered slurping, reversed tape-like repeats that reacted unlike any multi-effect or rack delay. Not only can it create dreamy, violin-esque soundscapes but very usable rhythmic delays that almost make you forget that the repeats are backwards. Original units still fetch hundreds of dollars on the used market but Danelectro now offer the exact same circuit with the same NOS delay chips at a fraction of the price. Simply dial in the wet dry mix, delay time up to a second and how many repeats. Plus, its housed in a metal, pedalboard friendly enclosure, accepts a standard 9V DC power supply and is wired for relay-based true bypass.
