With a background in design and woodworking in his DNA, Andy Webber of Whalehazard guitars has a keen eye for detail which is evident in the Andromeda’s unique curves and intricate inlay work. Every guitar is made by hand in Minneapolis Minnesota with carefully selected hardwoods and custom specs for each player. This example is made with a Korina body that is both comfortable and balanced. The neck is made from quartersawn cherry, an excellent tonewood and favorite of Whalehazard. You’ll notice easy access to every last fret due to the artful approach to joining that allows the body’s shape to be uninterrupted. Getting deeper into the specs, the Andromeda is fully customizable from the scale length (24.75, 25.5, 27" baritone) to electronics and hardware but this one has a 25.5” scale that terminates at a Gotoh wraparound bridge which all adds up to extra snap and detail. Matching the 14” radius Richlite fingerboard are Galaxy Wide Range Humbuckers from Righteous Sound Pickups

These fit into standard humbucker rings topped with Richlite inserts and are surrounded by a sleek beveled pickguard of the same durable material. WRHBs stem from Seth Lover’s alternate approach to humbuckers in the '70s where the slugs ARE the magnets and bass and treble polepieces are staggered for maximum definition.
Gold glitter adorns the fretboard while side dots allow you to find your way around all 23 frets (24 fret version available). The feel of the neck is slightly chunky with a thick “C” profile with a glossy finish. Moving our way to the headstock, we find a smooth bone nut, Richlite trussrod cover and gold hipshot tuners. The pro setup left nothing to be desired, which a straight neck, low action and perfect intonation. As you can see Whalehazard guitars are made with exacting standards in Minneapolis Minnesota.
