The Ascent is an ultra transparent amplitude controller capable of boosting any instrument up to 20dB. Loaded with high quality, low noise components and Peter Hamstead’s skillful circuit design, the Ascent has near-zero tone coloration and distortion, perfect for punching up a signal before or after pedals or into a tube amp to achieve natural tube breakup. Armed with 30V internal headroom and a VCA controlled gain knob, this boost is very linear and dynamic.
During these time of Covid-19, the live music scene has completely halted and musicians and the backline technicians that keep bands running from show to show have been faced with some real challenges.
The plan for the Hamstead Ascent is to not only get these techs working again but donate a portion of sales to charity. Available exclusively on Reverb, the Ascent will be built by a group of pro technicians from bands such as AC/DC, Iggy Pop, Mumford & Sons, The 1975 and Queen! 10% of all profits will be going to the helpmusicians charity and Dan and the GigRig crew who provide the OptoKick switching for the pedal will also contribute 15% to the project.
