Cream, "White Room" guitar lesson. Today we're using the Dirty Little Secret MKIII foundation overdrive from Catalinbread to give us an early Marshall tone. The intro starts with a 5/4 time signature for a staggering, dramatic sound. White room also features an early use of the wah pedal which blew a few minds back in '68. The main riff employs a Csus2 chord that moves to a G/B, a great way to contrast the power chords that complete the measure. To reproduce the same talking effect in the song, we chose the Vox Hand Wired Wah, which nails the vocal-like sweep of that era. Enjoy your daily guitar lesson.
