The SolidGoldFX Oblivion takes you down an unexplored path when it comes to flanger effects. 3 Modes include Through-Zero which involves two signals weaving in and out of phase just like it was done with tape machines, Bi-Flange for extra pitch modulation using two delay lines or Quad-Fange using 4 delay lines for greater dimension and extra pitch modulation. There are also 3 waveforms, downward sawtooth, sine and bell curves to tweak the feel of the wave plus a range knob that not only sets the width but freezes you in the manual mode when CCW. Things get even more adventurous with the Degrade switch that turns every mode into a unique lo-fi flanger.
Control over the speed and intensity are unprecedented, with Tap tempo with 3 subdivisions, a ramp feature to speed up or slow down temporarily and a Brake feature to stop the LFO at any moment. If that wasn’t enough, you can control many parameters of the Oblivion with an Expression pedal via the internal DIP switches.
The common flanger controls are all there along with a Dry Blend which truly makes the Oblivion one of the most versatile flangers to date, allowing the choice to not have TZF sounds disappear or keep those noisier, lo-fi textures in the background.
