The Poppy Dual Boost is a clever new design from Flower Pedals that houses two different boosts, Red and White, with different topology for maximum versatility. A clean boost is just a helpful effect, it’s for those who want to push their amp into overdrive without adding all kinds of clipping and compression but it also integrates into any pedalboard and can add more gain to any part of your chain. With the Red Poppy side, you get a high headroom op-amp based boost based on the original mini Poppy. It not only has lots of output, but Tone and Bump controls that work in tandem to deliver wide range of boosted frequencies, whether you want it transparent, mid-heavy or treble boosted. The White Poppy is a different flavor of clean boost using JFETs and a Baxandall tone circuit with famously interactive Bass and Treble controls that can produce a wide range of eq curves that also affect the midrange.
On top of being able to stack both boosts for extra grit and tone shaping, there are individual inputs and outputs for each side that lets you insert any pedal in between, for pre and post boost sandwich. Another option is to place each boost anywhere in the signal chain such as at the beginning of your board to boost low output pickups and one at the end for maximum kick.
The Dual Boost takes 9V in and converts to 18V internally for high headroom and is built and designed by hand in Lancaster Pennsylvania.
