The Giygas is an original 3 transistor fuzz armed with powerful controls that make it a go-to pedal for guitar and bass players of any genre. The core sound of this pedal is a thick, creamy fuzz that provides any instrument with singing sustain while a clean blend allows the dry signal to ride shotgun, bringing clarity and definition to any setting. To shape the sound, a detented tilt EQ knob centered at 900Hz either boosts bass while cutting highs or cuts bass while boosting highs. The center of this see-saw is controlled by the midrange control and can take the 900Hz band at boost or cut by 10dB. If you want to take advantage of this powerful EQ without fuzz, just set the Blend fully CCW and crank the Loud control for clean or slightly boosted EQ.
Switching the internal mode to Bass shifts the center freq from 900 to 250Hz for all you bassists. While inside, you can fine tune the oomph of your guitar or bass cab with an independent 40Hz cut or boost by 10dB. Lastly, it should be known that this isn’t your average vintage-style fuzz, the Loud control can deliver insane amounts of output when set to a fuzz tone. Unity gain is only around 9 o’clock and the fuzz amount is still clear and thick in lower gain settings.
