This is the second Strat I ever made a while ago. I wanted to make a Strat that sounds exactly like Jimi Hendrix' Strat at Woodstock in 'Hear my Train a Comin' which was one of my favourite sounds. And that's what this guitar sounds like to me. But I'm no Hendrix. It used many parts that were replica (or near to) 68 or 69 with the exception of the body. But the body still achieved that sound I believe. I spent many months making this guitar and it was where I first developed the idea about copper tape and the 'Faraday cage' idea I had to stop spurious emissions hitting the front end of the amp through a Strat.
Pickups are Abigail Ybarra (69 custom shop) and signed. The neck is a sort of 68/9 maple and everything else was what you might expect. Check out the video for an in your face close up review of this guitar... its one of my favourite Stratocaster guitars.
Warmoth and genuine Fender parts are used on this guitar.
For other reviews check my YouTube channel and as always don't forget to visit my website http://www.tonymckenzie.com that has many more by way of far superior reviews of effects, amps, guitars and other music related stuff than you might imagine. If you think my video reviews are long then take a look at the more in depth written ones.
Every review I do is completely unbiased - I sell nothing! and I don't own any magazines either. I never write or record videos for reviews for shops either. Every video is self financed as is the equipment. What you get is a review just as if you had bought one of the reviewed pieces yourself! Now what could be better than that?
PLEASE SUBSCRIBE AND RING THE BELL. And if you like the video then thumbs up! Thanks - its always appreciated and I won't bombard you with reviews!
