Demo of the String Slinger Overdrive by Free The Tone.

My take:
This TANK of a pedal from Free The Tone is a very pretty, refined, expensive-sounding take on the vintage Fender blackface tone. A little fizzy in the top end, creamy through the low mids, and tight in the low end, this overdrive is a great representation of a classic American rock sound. I liked it best with the gain dialed back a bit (around 3 o'clock)... this gave me a little of that scooped flavor without getting too wild and crazy. At higher gain settings it would pair really well with a Marshall for a super thick, wall-of-sound rock thing as well. Check it out!
